After a few failed breeding attempts with another stud, I've decided to use a more local stud to help with success with Token's first litter. Of course, finding a CEA & EAOD clear stud not closely related to my own dogs within reasonable driving distance and with promise in the show ring, sports, and herding is like finding a needle in a 500 foot tall hay stack. Not a tall order at all! After talking with Katelyn (Skyward Farms) more about my goals with breeding and the stepping stones I need to get to where I want to go, the opportunity to use her stud dog Boom presented itself.

Boom is loosely related to my amazing boy Risk through Risk's grandmother Liberty, who was the foundation of many great Top Notch dogs and Boom's great grandmother. Boom's owner Felisha has spoken highly of his temperament and work ethic, which are two traits that I am hoping to preserve moving forward with my dogs. Boom has finished his grand championship primarily owner-handled and has dabbled in disc showing incredible drive and appropriate arousal to think on the field. He has also been worked on sheep and has the workability to progress through AKC herding.

Boom's sister Mavis was bred to Token's half grandnephew Xander and all of the owners are thrilled with the drive and temperament of their dogs. Boom's half brother Zuma was also bred to Token's half niece Xtra and those puppies have exceptional conformation for success in the show ring. Despite the outcross of these two pedigrees, I have great confidence that this pairing will follow those similar pairings in terms of producing well-rounded puppies.

I anticipate Boom and Token will complement each other's strengths well and will produce puppies who can absolutely succeed with sports with the potential for some show and AKC level herding homes. I expect puppies to have great toy drive and food drive, wonderful partnership, off switches, and be pretty without being too much dog in size and coat. I would like to place these puppies in homes interested in sports, showing, and AKC herding. This pairing can produce black and white, black tricolor, blue merle, blue merle tricolor, and gold puppies.
